The Circus Train - BookBub Deal

If someone had taken the time to explain to me how much selling was involved in publishing before I became an author, I doubt I would have ever picked up a pen in the first place. In hindsight, this is a hopelessly naive view - publishing is a business like any other - but it wasn’t until after my novel came out that I fully came to understand the inner workings of the sales machine. And while I love watching anything related to sales (I’ve seen ‘Glengarry Glen Ross’ and ‘The Boiler Room’ far too many times to count and I’m currently hooked on ‘Industry’), I can’t say I enjoy selling anything myself.

Luckily I have great publishers who continue to shower ‘The Circus Train’ with love and take care of a chunk of the sales on my behalf. On that note, I’m excited to share that my American publisher, Putnam, secured a second BookBub deal for my book. From August 25th until August 30th, you can buy the ebook version of ‘The Circus train’ for only $2.99.

For those of you who may not know what BookBub is, it’s essentially a book deal website. Every week they send out newsletters advertising amazing deals on novels from multiple genres. It doesn’t cost anything to join and you’re never obligated to buy (I can feel the cringe salesperson coming out as I type…)

I snuck a look at the BookBub site earlier today and saw my novel sitting pretty next to some fiction luminaries.

Anyways, if you are interested in buying, here are the details:

  • The US ebook edition of The Circus Train is available through BookBub for $2.99 from August 25th until August 30th.

  • It’s only available to US-based readers at this time (I so wish this weren’t the case, but unfortunately I don’t make the rules).

  • Once you sign up for BookBub, you can search for the book and then you can choose to purchase it on Amazon, Apple Books or Kobo. I don’t think they support other vendors at this time (again, not something I can control).

I took a look at the book page and it was a pretty special moment. I avoid all reviews and never go on Goodreads. But it was humbling to see that there were over 6,000 5 star reviews for my novel there.

As always, thanks to all my readers for your support and to my publishers for continuing to lift up this book.
